The Olympia School Board welcomes feedback about policies that are currently being reviewed by the Citizen's Advisory Committee (CAC) - Policy Review. The Advisory Committee is made up of students, family members, staff and community members who are leading the work of the district policy review in preparation for adoption by the school board.

The Olympia School District is excited to announce the addition of no-cost Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) preschools to our district for the 2024-25 school year. We are actively recruiting students and staff for these pilot programs, which will be taking place at both Garfield and McLane Elementary school.

The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) recently published the Safety Study Hall website, a place for schools, students, and families to learn more about safety topics. Additional information about the site can be found below, including the House Bill 1230 content and links to state laws that provide schools, school districts, and educational service districts with direction on their next steps. The Olympia School District is pleased to announce that we have partnered with FinalForms, a web-based platform used to register and maintain all necessary data for student-athletes in grades 7-12. FinalForms allows you and your student-athletes to complete and sign athletic participation forms with ease. Previously the district had partnered with Arbiter Sports (FamilyID) for these services.

The Olympia School District Transportation Department is hard at work gearing up for the 2024-25 school year. If you have a student who plans to ride the bus this year please visit the Transportation Department webpage and complete the Transportation Request Form by August 15, 2024.

During high-risk wildfire weather conditions, Puget Sound Energy (PSE) will take proactive steps to ensure safety while balancing the reliable delivery of energy to our communities. One tool PSE may use is temporarily shutting off power lines to help prevent wildfires from starting. This is called a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS), and it’s a measure of last resort to keep you and your community safe. If you or your family have home medical equipment that relies on electricity, please contact PSE Customer Care at 1-888-225-5773 for details about the Medical Life Support Program.

The Olympia School District Board of Directors has approved the school year calendar for the 2024-25 school year. ​ This calendar includes only districtwide holidays and events. School-specific events are not included, so be sure to check school websites/calendars for specific school-related events and activities. ​ Graduation dates for 2025 will be published as soon as the dates are confirmed.
